Oil drops

The price of a barrel of crude oil dropped to under $40 a barrel today and I for one hope that it stays right there for a long time to come. This can mean that the price of a gallon of gasoline will drop even lower than it is right now and that is a very good thing for us and our delivery business. When oil was over $147 a barrel it about drove us out of business and our small delivery business is still reeling from it. Let us hope the new year starts the same way 2008 is ending and the price of oil keeps going down and down.

Gas under $2.00 a gallon

I checked the Gas Buddy web site and found quite a surprise in Oklahoma where I am from I found that in Oklahoma City gasoline was going for $1.91 a gallon it has not hit that level here, the lowest price I was able to find here in Nashville was $2.39 a gallon in Smyrna. The bad thing is that we never ever go to Smyrna, I have not been there in years but if the price keeps being the cheapest there I may have to make a trip south for cheap gasoline I think I can make a special trip.

Take time to think

The last couple of weeks I have been taking a lot of time to think about the economy and how this down turn will effect my retirement nest egg. The best situation I could come up with was to consolidate all of my debt and with the money that I save put that back into my retirement plan to see if I could get back to the level I was at before this terrible down turn. The best debt consolidation avenue that I found was Bills dot com and the fantastic debt consolidation page that they have.

Bills.com has a lot of very useful information on their web site and I fond the help I needed to reduce my debt and to keep my retirement fund growing on the pace I need to retire in 10 years like I have planned all along.

To use the list of items that Bills.com has listed to reduce my debt makes so very much sense to me in so many different ways. Some of my older debts I can get some help to get a debt settlement and the rest I will pay down to save a lot of money on interest, this makes the most sense to me and I am very ready to get started with this plan as soon as possible. Thanks to Bills.com and all the information they had on their fantastic web site.

Low prices

I paid $3.11 for gasoline today and I see where in far north Nashville the price has fallen to under $3.00 a gallon several gas stations have gasoline priced at $2.99 and one even down to $2.95. I hope it does not take to long to get it down to that low price in my area of town, we are lagging a bit on the price drop and I for one hope we get caught up and get the price down where the rest of the country is at. It is very hard to believe that we have some of the highest prices on gasoline in the country, makes it kind of hard to make a living driving a delivery truck.

Stock Market crash

Even after the bailout was approved at the end of last week the stock market took it in the shorts again today. I for one do not support this so called bail out, I just think it was an attempt at giving some money back to his friends by our president and not an attempt at saving jobs or the average Americans money, and that is just my opinion and I can not support it with facts but just my opinion and last I looked all Americans have the right to have an opinion.
